Bright red, superficial vascular blemishes these are often dome shaped or slightly raised and are frequently found on the midriff. Most people aged over 30 have at least one and they are often more common in men than women..

Blood Spots Cause:

Skin tags are viral in nature and whilst not highly infectious they do seem to spread on certain individuals. Skin tags are commonly found in areas of friction, for example around the neck, under the arms, on the chest, back, under the breast or in the groin area.

Aesthetic Treatment:

The tip of a small probe is used to treat the tag; a small burst of energy is expelled, and a slight stinging sensation is experienced.

Aesthetic Treatment Aftercare:

Following your treatment you may experience:

  • A slight reddening/swelling of the skin in the area.
  • Warmth in the area that has been treated.
  • Pin dot crusting in the area that has been treated.
  • The area treated may feel itchy as it heals.
Following aesthetic treatment ensure you follow the aftercare advice to avoid unwanted reactions or infections:
  • A scab may appear to seal the skin and prevent infection. The scab must not be picked off, as to do so will result in scarring.
  • Do not touch, scratch or rub the treated area.
  • Aftercare products recommended use is Witch Hazel Gel for 24-48 hours, followed by 28 days of Aloe Vera Gel. Apply twice a day or as often as required under usual day/night cream. Apres Clear can be substituted for the Witch Hazel and offers additional anti-bacterial properties.
  • The treatment area can be washed or cleansed, using a gentle soap free/perfume free cleanser. Gently pat the area to avoid dislodging of any scabs.
  • No swimming, saunas, steam rooms, facial steaming, facial scrubs, waxing and other beauty treatments, until the area has completely healed.
  • Keep out of UV light as much as possible. The area treated and any areas showing a predisposition to blood spots should be protected by a sunscreen at all times during the summer months.
  • Avoid using any possible skin sensitisers or irritants such as perfume, fake tan products or perfumed body lotions.
  • Should you have any concerns regarding your treatment please contact the clinic.
